Overview
Economics is a social science that deals with human activities related to the choice, production, distribution and consumption of goods and service. Economics has two main sub-disciplines: Whereas microeconomics examines and analyzes such economic units as consumers, producers and the government in terms of their behavior patterns and choice mechanisms in the market; macroeconomics deals with economic aggregates and their interactions at national and international levels, and examines such major subject-matters as economic growth, unemployment and inflation. The dynamic economic structure of contemporary times necessitates engaging in a formidable learning process and making choices among complex alternatives under certain constraints, even in the case of the simplest decision-making stages of everyday life. Economics, as a social science, has gained increasing importance in understanding all these processes and analyzing current socio-political developments in the world.
